The Investiture Ceremony for the academic session 2019-20 was held in SRMPS on 29th June 2019. The Student Council consisting of an Executive Governing Body and the functioning members were invested today in a formal ceremony under the premiership of our accomplished Chief Guest Mr. H. Krishnamurthy, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Royapetta, the Guest of Honour, Ms. K. Niveditha, President, Student’s Union, Stella Maris, The Correspondent, Mr. M. Subramanian, The Advisor, Dr. K. R. Maalathi and the Principal, Ms. Bhuaneshwari Sriram. The ceremony began with a thunderous Drummer’s Delight which was a treat to behold. They even received a special mention from the Guest of Honour for their performance. The School Council, comprising 30 members, marched in one accord and received their badges, sashes adnd roles and responsibilities from the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour. The Chief Guest, Mr. H. Krishnamurthy, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Royapetta encouraged the student body to have a positive mind-set and believe that they ‘Can’. The Guest of Honour, Ms. K. Niveditha, President, Student’s Union, Stella Maris drew from personal experience and shared an inspiring heartfelt message with the audience, Our Correspondent, Mr. M. Subramanian, encouraged the leaders and students to be responsible and most importantly to be happy school goers. In all, it was a day that will be fondly cherished by the members of the council and inspire all our students to be leaders in the future.

A Poster making competition, organised by Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd and Mahindra Research Valley was held at SRMPS today for students of grades 6 to 9.  Mr. Sunil Satput , GM , Sustainability and other members of the group along with the Principal, Ms. Bhuvaneshwari Sriram  and the Advisor , Dr. K.R. Maalathi, were present at the venue. Over 40 students participated in the competition and made creative posters on the theme Air Pollution in continuation of the World Environment Day celebrations. 6 of our budding artists won prizes and all of them left feeling convinced that they should do more towards caring for Mother Earth.

The International day of Yoga was a two – day celebration at SRMPS. On June 21st students celebrated it through a thought provoking assembly which was a combination of asanas and information. It was a brilliant show by the students of SRMPS. We are proud to say that our students are all yoga literates and each of them is aware of the benefits of yoga. They performed their asanas to soothing music and the guidance their yoga teacher. We also had a stunning demonstration by students of Grades 6 and 7. They left us tongue-tied with their flexibility and movements. We were reminded of the adage, a healthy mind in a healthy body. We are indeed proud that we are creating healthy and balanced citizens and leaders right here in our campus. On the 22nd of June around 40 parents and 20 teachers met at the Multi-purpose Hall for a Yoga session. All them admitted to feeling positive and energised after the session and they appreciated the school for their initiative.
