A Poster making competition, organised by Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd and Mahindra Research Valley was held at SRMPS today for students of grades 6 to 9.  Mr. Sunil Satput , GM , Sustainability and other members of the group along with the Principal, Ms. Bhuvaneshwari Sriram  and the Advisor , Dr. K.R. Maalathi, were present at the venue. Over 40 students participated in the competition and made creative posters on the theme Air Pollution in continuation of the World Environment Day celebrations. 6 of our budding artists won prizes and all of them left feeling convinced that they should do more towards caring for Mother Earth.

The International day of Yoga was a two – day celebration at SRMPS. On June 21st students celebrated it through a thought provoking assembly which was a combination of asanas and information. It was a brilliant show by the students of SRMPS. We are proud to say that our students are all yoga literates and each of them is aware of the benefits of yoga. They performed their asanas to soothing music and the guidance their yoga teacher. We also had a stunning demonstration by students of Grades 6 and 7. They left us tongue-tied with their flexibility and movements. We were reminded of the adage, a healthy mind in a healthy body. We are indeed proud that we are creating healthy and balanced citizens and leaders right here in our campus. On the 22nd of June around 40 parents and 20 teachers met at the Multi-purpose Hall for a Yoga session. All them admitted to feeling positive and energised after the session and they appreciated the school for their initiative.

First Day of Kindergarten was an amazing day. Teachers welcomed the tiny tots with a big smile and excitement. Kids were happy to receive a take away gift as a remembrance of first day to school to cherish forever.

The student council elections 2019-20 was held at SRMPS on 18 June, 2019. After a week’s campaigning by the nominees of various offices, the online polling was conducted today under the leadership of the Principal. The entire process was carried out democratically where all students who nominated themselves for the different offices were allowed to contest in the elections and present their manifestos. The students also engaged themselves in preparing and presenting their own symbols on the various display boards of the school. The polling was kept open for students from grades 4 to 9. It was a real pleasure to watch the first time voters from grade 4 understand electoral procedure and cast their votes. It was yet another historic day in the annals of SRMPS and we are all eager to see a fully functional Student Council take up leadership to help the school shine as a beacon of knowledge and growth! The results are expected on the 21st of June and the newly elected governing body will be vested on the 29th of June 2019.

SRMPS conducted a Blood Donation Day in collaboration with Lion’s Club on 8th June 2019 between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm in the school campus in view of World Blood Donors Day. The camp was a huge success with over 40 parents and members of faculty who volunteered to donate blood. It was indeed a lesson in service and sacrifice for both adults and children alike.
