“A parent is a teacher at home and a teacher is a parent in school and the child is the centre of our universe.”

Keeping this in mind, we at SRMPS organised an orientation programme for the kindergarten parents on 01.06.2019.The program was to familiarise the parents about the curriculum, how does the school function, teaching methodologies and the co-scholastic activities to prove that parents are “partners in progress” and happy learning.

The orientation programme ended on a good note with an overwhelming response and assuring that our children will be led towards a happy, skilful and creatively well adjusted citizens.

The faculty of SRMPS had an enlightening session on 29th May 2019 with Dr. K.R. Maalathi, Advisor, SRMPS who declared the year 2019 as a “Year of Interaction”. Educators were encouraged to make thinking visible through activities such as Think-Pair-Share, Think-Puzzle-Explore and Connect-Extend-Challenge. Another point of focus was to help children learn to discuss and disagree. We were involved in an active deliberative session on two relevant topics and ‘agreed’ to ‘disagree’ on issues. This gave us a glimpse of how important it is for children to think and express themselves without inhibitions. We look forward to employing these suggestions in the classroom!

The two-day workshop by Ms.Jyothi Swaroop, organised by SRMPS was a great way to welcome the members of the faculty for the new academic session. The first day was an eye opener to the crucial role that educators play in imparting knowledge to 21st century learners. The vibrant and energetic resource person managed to ‘ engage – disengage and re-engage 100 strong audience of educators. It was an enriching, informative and exciting session for all in attendance. We look forward to the second day with enthusiasm and eagerness.

SRMPS observed Zero Shadow day at 12.07 pm in its premises on 24-April-19.

Teachers & Students gathered in the ground for an experiential learning which gave them insights on the science behind it and its phenomenal occurrence.

Mrs VijayaLakshmi conducted a session on ‘Lesson plan , Phonics and TL activities’, 26 KG teachers participated in this interactive session.

The training emphasized on the importance of the connectivity between the facilitator and the student. In detail, the training covered about the effectiveness of Multisensory approach in the classroom, refreshing the Phonics sounds, implementing the syllabus to generate happy learners and to create age appropriate independent readers.
